Privacy: What This Site Does With Your Information

A plain account of what a visit involves, what a message holds, and what these pages do not promise.

What a visit to these pages involves

These pages are a set of static pages. Reading them does not ask you for an account, a password or a payment. We say so first because it is the question a reader of a privacy page asks first, and it describes the pages as they are built.

Opening a page loads its typefaces from two outside font services, Fontshare and Google Fonts, so your browser contacts those services as well as this site. Links to other sites lead to pages with their own practices, which this statement does not describe.

A blank open notebook beside a fountain pen and a cup of coffee on a dark wooden desk
A blank notebook and pen, chosen because nothing is written in it. It shows no reader and no message.

Any server that delivers a page can keep a record of the requests it receives. How long a host keeps that record is for the host to set, and this statement promises no period for it.

What a message holds, and what it leaves out

This site takes no messages: the Ask A Question page has no form, and nothing typed on these pages reaches anyone. That page sets out what to have ready before you write to a consultant, which is the release, the hardware and the question that prompted it, and nothing more is needed to get a useful answer.

Leave out anything you would not want written into a note: customer names, passwords, licence keys and the contents of a database.

The Scope Record

Questions a reader asks before writing in

Does a message stay on file?
This statement gives no retention period and promises none.
Will someone reply?
The Ask A Question page promises no reply and no response time, and does not say that every message is read.
Are details sold or passed on?
Nothing on these pages describes selling or passing on a visitor's details. The two font services named above are the only outside services the pages load.
Is anyone tracking which pages a reader opens?
No analytics or tracking script is described on these pages. If one is ever added, this statement has to say so before it goes live.

Where to go next, and what these pages leave unsaid

If you want to know how the decision helper reasons about a system, the Our Offering page sets out each question and the reason for each outcome. The helper there works in the reader's browser and sends its answers nowhere.

A stock photograph of a person on a phone at a desk. It shows no visitor and no message.

This statement leaves unsaid the arrangements of the host, the mail handling behind the Ask A Question route, and the practices of any outside site a link leads to. Those are for the parties concerned to state, and they are not described here.

The limits of this statement

This statement describes the site as it is built and nothing beyond it. It does not describe the arrangements of the company that hosts the pages, the mail arrangements behind the Ask A Question route, or the terms of any site a link leads to.

If a fact here changes, for example a new form that stores replies or a service that records visits, this statement must be updated before the change goes live. Until then, read it as the account of this site as it stands, and send only the details you are willing to share.
